Kauai's roller derby league
We will be starting off the 2017 season with an introductory class "What Is Roller Derby?". If you've ever wanted to get involved in roller derby here on Kauai we have lots of opportunities for you!
Hope to see you on the rink!
GIRR will be skating in the 1st Annual KPAL 5k Fun Run. Don't worry, we're not eligible to place for 1st, 2nd, 3rd... prizes, since skating is an advantage over running.
We are hosting a triple header with Maui Roller Girls and Echo City Knockouts on Saturday, May 21st from 3pm to 9pm. First bout starts at 3:30pm. Suggested donation at the door is $5. We'll have food trucks and music entertainment between bouts.
This is at a new location: Southside Sports Center in Koloa. It's covered, so we'll play rain or shine!
If you are interested in volunteering your time for this event, we need your help! Please email firstname.lastname@example.org to let us know. Mahalo!
Saturday, March 12, 2016, we'll be hosting "Pint Night" at Kauai Beer Company on Rice Street in Lihue. $1 from every pint or goblet sold that day will support GIRR. We'll be there 6pm-9pm to raffle off some prizes and share information about roller derby. You can join this event on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/events/990372421042659/.
After years of talking about it and months of preparing for it, we received confirmation that we are now a 501(c)(3) non-profit! Mahalo nui to all the talented and dedicated women on our team who stuck with it and pulled it off!
Why is this good news? Any sponsorship or donation you give to GIRR is now tax deductible! In addition to our usual, manual means of fundraising (Krispy Kreme weekend sales, Ohana Skate Night events, etc), we also welcome any and all donations through our PayPal account, and you are welcome to see the pre-selected sponsorship levels we have on our Sponsors page.
Please join us for boot camp, starting Sunday, January 18th, 4 - 6pm at Mayor Bryan J. Baptiste Sports Complex in Kapaa next to the skate park and round-about. You can join this event from our Facebook page.
BOI has been re-scheduled for the same venue, Hilo Civic Auditorium on November 15th, and GIRR will be there. Be there to cheer on your favorite team!
This tournament (BOI) has been postponed due to tropical storm Ana. We'll post an update when we have the new date for this tournament.
GIRR will be competing in “Battle of the Islands 2014” statewide roller derby tournament, hosted by Hilo's Paradise Roller Girls Hawaiian HoneyBadgers. Friday and Saturday October 17th and 18th at the Hilo Civic Auditorium, doors open at 8:30 am, first bout starts at 9:00 am both days, 14 bouts each day, bouts will run every 45 minutes, 28 bouts total. Tickets are $5 per day and can be purchased online at www.paradiserollergirls.com.
